Inference Activities - Making Inferences with Pictures Missing Camera Activity is a creative bundle of activities designed to help your students improve their inferential thinking. Students will imagine that they find an old-school camera on the side of the road with no identifying information. They decide to look through the pictures for clues as to who the camera belongs to. Students will examine details from the most recent photos taken by the camera to make inferences about the camera's owner!

Prompting questions are provided to help guide students' inferences. Students must infer information from the photos based on their background knowledge and demonstrate what evidence led them to make that inference.

Included in the Missing Camera Inference Activities Resource:

➡️ Teacher Instructions: The included teacher instructions will provide all the details you need to successfully implement these inference assignments in your class so that your students can start successfully making inferences.

➡️ 10 Missing Camera Inference Assignments: Use these 10 assignments with "lost images" that students must examine. The assignments include prompting questions which allow students to make inferences from the provided pictures. They will also provide evidence to support the inferences they make.

➡️ Missing Camera Inference Assignment Sample Answer Key: There is technically no right answer when it comes to making inferences as the responses are based on students' individual background knowledge, but we have included a sample answer key to show students what a model response to this inference activity would look like!

What Teachers Are Saying About These Missing Camera Inference Activities:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students really enjoyed the pictures and after completing this activity were able to understand making inferences better. After looking at the pictures and details in the pictures they were able to pick out details in texts to make inferences.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved these and so did my students! They are pretty open-ended and I loved seeing what details and inferences my students gathered from the pictures. It led to great discussions in our class meetings. Can't wait to use these again this school year!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This resource was a hit with my class. I set each "lost camera sheet" up as a station and students moved around the room "finding the camera photos" and then writing facts and inferences on a separate piece of paper. My class was so engaged they were silent during this activity! They loved it and I would highly recommend it.
