GIVER ACTIVITY: SEEING BEYOND
In The Giver by Lois Lowry, Jonas has the ability to see things the others cannot. This fun, interactive class activity allows students to empathize with Jonas’ ability to see beyond.
Students will enter the classroom to a colorful poster welcoming them to Seeing Beyond. The students participate in a classroom discussion, then students have the chance to try to see beyond. Some students will be able, while others will not. After the activity, students participate in a post-activity discussion (questions included). Students absolutely LOVE this activity ☺
