Easter Mystery Activity – Who Kidnapped the Easter Bunny? Digital ELA Game
Turn your classroom into an Easter crime scene with this interactive Easter mystery activity that keeps students engaged while practicing essential language skills. In this digital Easter mystery activity, students become detectives racing to solve the disappearance of Hopper before the Springvale egg hunts begin. Students uncover hidden clues by completing spelling, grammar, punctuation, and figurative language challenges. As they eliminate suspects, locations, and methods, they piece together who kidnapped the Easter Bunny, where it happened, and how it was done—just in time to save Easter.
This is a digital resource and students complete all the work on a device. It works well for distance learning, 1:1 classrooms, remote teaching, Google Classroom, or online learning environments.
How Does the Easter Mystery Digital Activity Work?
- Students are introduced to a story-based mystery set on Easter morning, after learning the Easter Bunny has suddenly vanished in the night, and chaos spreads across Springvale. They learn about a cast of suspects with clear motives, a list of possible locations, and several suspicious methods that could explain the Easter Bunny’s disappearance.
- Working in small groups or independently, students will examine 10 digital clue cards and complete the digital activities that require students to apply ELA skills—such as correcting spelling and homophones, identifying figurative language, fixing punctuation, and analyzing capitalization—to reveal clues.
-
These clues allow students to eliminate suspects, locations, or methods in their digital detective booklet. When a group believes they have cracked the case, they call out, “We solved the mystery!” and check their answers. The class can then review each clue together and reveal the culprit using the provided Easter game answer slides.
