Included in the Refugee Creative Plot Diagram Game:

➡️ Plot Sort Mystery Quote Instruction Page: Introduce the activity with a playful rhyming prompt and instruct students to record the revealed quote as they go through the activity.

➡️ 36 Plot Cards: Challenge students to identify and organize major plot events from the three narratives, with each card containing a letter that contributes to a hidden quote.

➡️ 3 Character-Specific Sorting Mats: Help students visually separate and sequence events from Josef’s, Isabel’s, and Mahmoud’s stories.

➡️ Plot Sort Mystery Quote Teacher Answer Key: Support grading or whole-class review with a complete key that outlines correct plot card groupings.

How the Refugee Creative Plot Diagram Game works:

  1. Start by reading the rhyming prompt aloud to the class to introduce the activity. Instruct students to record the quote that is revealed at the end of the activity in the space provided on the instruction page.
  2. Next, students will sort the plot cards onto the three character mats, matching each moment to Josef, Isabel, or Mahmoud and arranging them in chronological order.
  3. Finally, students will use the letters in the top corners of the cards to decode a hidden quote, which they’ll write in the space provided on the instruction page.

This activity is best used as a culminating project after students have finished the novel, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to revisit and analyze key plot developments across the three intertwining storylines.
