Students use a high-interest picture to inspire writing. They can choose to write a narrative, descriptive, or personal piece based on the prompt.

TUESDAY: GRAMMAR TEXT FAIL
The bell-ringers allow students to correct grammar errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation errors in text message conversations!
• An 80 slide Google Slides presentation with 40 text messages that contain errors. Use one bell-ringer a week to last you the entire year! When you click the slide, each error is revealed and edited (one at a time) with a brief explanation of the error!

WEDNESDAY: WORD CHOICE
The bell-ringers allow students to improve their use of description (verbs, adverbs, and adjectives) by improving the word choice of given sentences.
• A 40 slide Google Slides presentation. Each slide has two sentences Students must improve the word choice of the sentences by choosing stronger verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.
• Each of the 40 slides also includes a sample response to use for review

THURSDAY DEBATES: PERSUASIVE POSITION
Start one day a week getting students to practice persuasive language with these debate bell-ringers or task cards.
