I can guarantee this will be a lesson your students will not forget!
How This Snowball Writing Christmas Writing Activity Works:
- Each student gets one of the 30 pre-made worksheets with a different holiday visual story starter. They begin writing the story as Writer #1.
- After an allotted amount of time, Writer #1 crumples their story up into a "snowball" and throws it to the front of the room.
- Everyone goes to the front to grab a snowball and they continue to story!
This process is repeated one more time, then it is returned to the original writer for editing, revision, and final copy! Students always have SO much fun doing this, and they usually can't believe you are letting them crumple up their stories.

What Teachers Are Saying About This Snowball Writing Christmas Writing Activity:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I used this the day before Thanksgiving break. The class found it hilarious to write stores that someone else had started. They enjoyed reading the final stories that at time did not make sense. They also loved having a "snowball" fight in class.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a snow day at school where many students weren't able to come. I used this with a multi-aged group of students. We had a lot of fun and everyone was able to participate at their level.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students had so much fun with this activity! Of course, they loved being able to throw the “snowballs” and create their stories together. This is a great way to get some extra low pressure writing in!
