This Christmas reading comprehension resource gives you an easy way to keep students engaged in meaningful literacy work during the holiday season. Students read three original, high-interest fictional Christmas stories—one about Frosty the snowman learning to ski, one about a year when Santa must deliver presents on foot, and one about a determined dog named Jingles who wants to join the reindeer team. After each story, students complete structured comprehension assignments to check understanding, including multiple-choice and short-answer questions that require them to refer back to the text for support. ➡️ Three Holiday Fictional Short Stories: Capture students’ attention with three engaging Christmas-themed stories. Students will read about Frosty the snowman learning to ski, a Christmas where Santa must deliver presents on foot, and a determined dog named Jingles who dreams of joining the reindeer team. Each story is written to be entertaining and accessible while still providing opportunities for close reading and comprehension practice.

➡️ Three Digital Christmas Reading Comprehension Assignments: After reading each story, students complete a one-page comprehension assignment. Each includes six multiple-choice questions and two short-answer questions that require students to refer directly to the text for evidence. The questions target key comprehension skills such as identifying main ideas, understanding character actions, interpreting details, and supporting answers with text evidence.
