This resource is the perfect way to bring the holidays into the classroom at Christmas while still meeting curriculum skills and standards!

Included in the Digital Christmas Reading Comprehension and Creative Writing Resource:

➡️ Three Holiday Digital Short Stories: Hook students in with these three high-interest Christmas short stories. The stories are about a snowman named Frosty who is learning to ski, a Christmas where Santa had to deliver the gifts on foot, and a dog named Jingles who wants to be on the reindeer team.

➡️️ Three Digital Reading Comprehension Assignments: After students have finished reading the stories, they can complete these one-slide digital reading comprehension assignments. Each one includes six multiple-choice questions and two short answer questions that require students to refer back to the text for evidence. These are great for standardized testing practice for comprehension and finding text evidence. Detailed answer keys are included for easy grading or class review.

➡️ Three Digital Creative Writing Assignments: Once students have read the story and completed the digital reading comprehension assignments, they can try their hand at creative writing with the three digital writing assignments that relate to each of the readings. For the Frosty reading, they will create a digital comic strip that expands on the snowball fight that occurs in the story. For the Santa story, students will design a new mode of transportation for Santa to deliver presents, and for the Jingles story, they will outline a daily schedule for the new pup on the reindeer team. These were designed to be creative, fun, and engaging assignments for students to connect to the text.
