➡️ Character Fakebook Page: Students will make a social media Fakebook page for a character in your reading. They can draw a picture of the character, update their status with how they are feeling at the moment, write information about them from the reading, and get other characters to write them messages!
➡️ Hashtags: The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate the characteristics and personality of a character from your reading. Students will imagine they
are the main character of the story they read. In the spaces provided, they will write five social media updates they think that character would write at two important plot moments in the story. Their updates and hashtag make specific reference to the story.
➡️ Message Me! The goal of this assignment is for students to show their understanding of the relationship between two characters. They will choose one of the characters in the story you read and have them write a personal online message to another character in the story.
➡️ Choose Your Apps: Which applications you use on your devices reveals a lot about your personality! Students will choose at least 5 applications (that they make up on their own) that they think a character in the story you read would download. They will draw the thumbnail for the application, give it a name, and explain their functions in detail.
➡️ Character Online Dating Profile: Students will create an imaginary online dating profile for a character from their reading. Information to add to the profile includes physical description, personality, interests, goals, and ambitions, among others.
➡️ Check My Internet History: Your internet history reveals a lot about your character and personality. Students write down what they think would be the top 4 websites (real or imagined) that a character in their reading would frequently visit and then explain why using text support.
