Included In This Back To School Stations Activity:

➡️ Blank Passport Template: Students receive either of the two-sized passport templates to collect and display the stamps they earn for completing each task throughout the stations activity.

➡️ Comic Strip Stamp Sheet: At this station, students create a comic strip illustrating a memorable moment from their summer vacation. They have the option to use illustrations only or include dialogue and descriptions to enhance their storytelling.

➡️ Hashtags Stamp Sheet: Next, students will craft social media status updates based on hashtag categories, offering insights into their interests, experiences, and personalities, and providing valuable information for teachers to get to know students better.

➡️ Find Someone Who... Stamp Sheet: Students interact with their classmates to find individuals who meet specific criteria, fostering communication and connections. For example, they may have to find a student who "has more than 2 siblings" or "someone who speaks a second language".

➡️ Last Year vs This Year Stamp Sheet: Students engage in reflective writing by comparing their experiences and choices from the previous year to their aspirations and goals for the current year.

How This Back To School Stations Activity Works:

Set up four different stations in your room, with space for approximately 1/4 of your students at each station. Students will have their own personalized passports and will "travel" to the stations to complete a variety of half-page assignments. After finishing each task, they submit their work, eagerly collecting passport stamps as they progress. Moving from station to station, students will learn new things about each other!

What Teachers Are Saying About This Back To School Stations Activity:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was brilliant and the kids loved it. It broke the ice and get the kids chatting. It was the perfect addition to our travel/passport-themed classroom.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a great "getting to know you" activity to do with a new group of students. It allows movement, social interaction, and the learning of interesting information as students share their stories. My eighth graders loved it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was fun way to get to know my three classes of Social Studies students. It worked well to utilize the "Find someone who" page in a Jamboard to use with our hybrid model so the two cohorts for the class would be able to get to know each other even though they weren't in class on the same day. I also liked it because it tied into our travel theme for the year.
