Wonder Assignment Music Lyrics Connection will help your students make text connections with this creative assignment where they find connections between song lyrics and themes and ideas that emerge in the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio! This resource is intended for use after Part 4, but it could also be used at any point in the novel. The assignment allows students to use their analysis and critical thinking skills to apply song lyrics to themes and content from the plot, characters, conflict, and mood of the novel.
Included in the Wonder Music Assignment:
➡️ Links to Song Lyrics: The assignment includes a page with links to music videos and lyrics that connect thematically with the novel. Lyrics are not permitted because of copyright reasons, but they can easily be accessed online. After listening to each song, students will make text connections between the lyrics and the novel, Wonder.
➡️ Wonder Lyrical Connections Assignment: This two-page response assignment provides space for students to choose one line from each song's lyrics and make a direct connection to a part of the novel, Wonder by R.J. Palacio.
