COMIC ASSIGNMENT: DRAW A SCENE FROM A NOVEL OR SHORT STORY:

This short story or novel assignment is a fun way to have students demonstrate their understanding of important plot elements. Have students choose a particular scene that they feel is important and draw the scene in a comic strip format. The assignment also asks them to explain the reasons for their choice of scene on the back of the page. Encourage students to choose a scene that develops conflict, theme, plot, or character.
