Looking for a winter or Christmas escape room that gets students collaborating, thinking critically, and actually excited to participate? Escape the Snow Globe is a winter-themed classroom escape room designed to build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and classroom community. Students work in small groups as they rotate through six engaging stations filled with puzzles, riddles, and challenges that blend logic, literacy, and fun. Everything you need is included, making this a low-prep, high-engagement activity that works beautifully as a holiday team builder or end-of-semester reward.

This escape room is winter-themed and does not make any specific references to Christmas, so you can use it anytime during the winter season. Students stay active, focused, and motivated as they solve clues together, making it perfect for classes with lots of energy to burn before a break.

The Christmas Escape Room Back Story:

The adventure begins at your school’s winter craft fair, where a group of friends stumbles upon a mysterious hidden booth filled with glowing snow globes. A strange woman dressed in white invites them to shake one of the globes — and suddenly, the world begins to spin. When the dizziness fades, they realize they’ve been magically trapped inside the snow globe.

Now frozen in a miniature winter wonderland, students must work together to complete a series of tasks hidden throughout the globe. Each challenge reveals part of a secret passphrase. Only by solving all the puzzles can they escape the snow globe and return to the real world before the cold becomes permanent.

How The Christmas Escape Room Works:

Students are placed into small groups and given a response booklet. After hearing the backstory, they circulate the classroom to six different stations. At each station, they complete a winter-themed task that reveals a code, word, or clue. Groups may complete the Christmas escape room stations in any order, but they must solve all six to uncover the final passphrase and escape the snow globe.

  • Pictograph Puzzle: Students decode picture-based word puzzles to form secret words.
  • Puzzle Riddle: Groups assemble a round jigsaw puzzle that reveals a winter-themed riddle and a hidden answer.
  • Spelling Quotes: Students correct spelling mistakes in winter quotes. The corrected words reveal a mystery code.
  • Vocabulary Match-Up: Quotes and definitions must be matched using context clues to uncover another hidden word.
  • Maze Riddle: Students navigate a maze to reveal a secret message hidden inside.
  • Encryption Challenge: Using snowflake symbols collected from previous stations, students decode an encrypted message to reveal the final escape phrase.

Included With The Christmas Escape Room:

➡️ Detailed Teacher Instructions: Clear, step-by-step instructions walk you through exactly how to prepare and run the Christmas escape room, including how to print and organize materials, set up each of the six stations, manage student groups, and facilitate the activity smoothly from start to finish.
