Valentine's Day Character Analysis Assignment For Any Novel or Short Story - Dating Profile: Bring Valentine's Day into your middle & high school English classes with this fun character analysis assignment that can be used with any short story or novel. After students have read a fictional short story or novel, have them create an online dating profile for one of the characters! Students will have to show an understanding of the character's physical description, personality, relationship with others, and goals. They will also have to infer who the ideal partner would be for this character. This works great on Valentine's Day, but can be used at any time of the year!

Included In This Valentine's Day Character Analysis Assignment:

➡️ Character Dating Profile Worksheet: Students will fill in the sections for their character's imagined dating profile. Sections to fill in include: character name; physical description; personality description; interests, goals, and ambitions; "You should message me if..."; ideal partner description, and more. There is also a place for students to draw a profile pic for their character.

What Teachers Are Saying About This Valentine's Day Character Analysis Assignment:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Drama students had so much fun with this! They really enjoyed putting themselves into the characters' shoes, and they got a good laugh out of this activity.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are finishing up characterization while in our Mythology unit; students are working on the dating profiles right now and are EXTREMELY engaged in the activity! Great idea to wrap up learning on characterization around Valentine's Day...but, any time of the year would work well.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My seniors really found this activity enjoyable. Used it to wrap up Pride and Prejudice and The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Fun!
