INCLUDED IN YOUR PURCHASE:

WEEKLY STUDENT HANDOUTS

Each of the 40 weeks has a folder that includes a Powerpoint with each of the slides organized by day as well as a weekly student handout. Pass the weekly sheet on Monday, and students use it to complete the bell ringers for that week!

MONDAY: GRAMMAR OF THE WEEK

Start the week off by introducing an interesting paragraph and having students edit grammar, spelling, and punctuation! Some of the paragraphs are fiction, while others are non-fiction. Students will not only improve their writing skills, but they will also learn a great deal from the information in the paragraphs!

TUESDAY: BRAINSTORM OF THE WEEK

Use the next day to improve your students' idea development, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills with some friendly competition!

Start your day by putting students into groups of 3-4 students. Have them complete the brainstorm of the week by coming up with words that relate to an interesting topic for 3 minutes.

You can make this a friendly competition between groups! Have students volunteer to share their answers. If another group has the same answer, all the groups have to cross it out. Give one point for answers that no other team has! This will encourage your students to think outside the box and come up with more creative answers!

You will be so surprised by how creative your students get after doing this activity for a few weeks. They will push themselves to start to think of answers that no one else will think of, so they can't get more points for their team!

WEDNESDAY: QUOTE OF THE WEEK

On the next day you can introduce one of the 40 inspirational quotes to your students, and add one of the beautiful ready-made posters to your classroom wall! You can discuss the quote as a class and your students can respond to the quote with ready-made response sheets!

THURSDAY: VIDEO JOURNAL OF THE WEEK

On the following day, get your students' attention every with these 40 engaging video writing prompts! The videos and prompts are modern and relevant to the 21st Century student. Students watch a short video clip (under 5 minutes in length) and respond to the provided prompt in writing on the response sheet. The videos will really make your students think, and I guarantee you will hear them talking about it in the hallway later that day! Youtube is required.

End the week off with reviewing the week's work, silent reading, or any other review you have to complete in class!
