Use this digital back to school activity during the first days of school to create a positive classroom environment and help students learn about their classmates in a natural, low-pressure way. In this “Hello, My Name Is…” activity, students circulate the room and talk to at least four different classmates, asking questions to learn something interesting about each person. The focus is on meaningful conversation, encouraging students to go beyond surface-level introductions and make real connections. As they move around the room, students build confidence speaking with peers while also practicing active listening and communication skills. During attendance, when a student’s name is called, a classmate shares what they learned about them, reinforcing accountability and making attendance more interactive and engaging.

This is a digital resource, and students complete all the work on the computer. This works well with distance learning, 1:1 classrooms, remote teaching, Google Classroom, or online education.
