A Wrinkle in Time Activity - Design a New Planet Assignment Fun Novel Project

This A Wrinkle in Time activity is a creative, end-of-unit project where students design an original planet that the characters might tesser to after the events of the novel. Drawing on the settings, themes, and ideas explored throughout the story, students imagine every detail of their planet—from its environment and inhabitants to its rules and culture. This A Wrinkle in Time project encourages students to apply their understanding of the novel in a creative way while making thoughtful connections to the characters’ journeys and the bigger ideas in the text.

Included in the A Wrinkle in Time Activity Design a New Planet Project:

➡️ Design a New Planet Assignment Instructions and Graphic Organizers: Students use this detailed, three-page organizer to fully develop their original planet. They will plan key elements such as the planet’s name, location, atmosphere, weather, inhabitants, leadership, rules, and customs, while also considering how the characters from the novel would react to this new world. The organizer prompts students to make connections to other planets in the novel and incorporate themes and ideas from the text, encouraging them to return to the story for inspiration and evidence. Once their planning is complete, students present their planet through a poster or slideshow, explaining their creative choices and how their design connects to the novel.
