Use this fun class activity to engage your students in exploring the theme of identity The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton! This is intended for use after Chapter 1 - 2, but could be used at any point in the novel.
HOW IT WORKS
Students will be greeted by an identity poster on your classroom door. Once students have participated in a whole class discussion (questions provided) they will choose a group to identify with from the identity cards placed around the room. With their group they will complete an assignment which gets them to investigate their own group, stereotypes, misconceptions etc.
