What Teachers Are Saying About The Outsiders Unit Plan:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I usually never leave feedback from my purchases, and I purchase a lot. And when I do leave feedback, it's usually at one time just to receive some credit. :) But I feel compelled to leave a comment regarding this purchase because it is INCREDIBLE! I am amazed at how thorough it is. I haven't had to do any extra work for this unit. There are engaging activities included as well as well-planned-out and clear questions and answers regarding basic comprehension, open-ended questioning, theme, and much more. I would have paid twice the amount for this product! Great job!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I bought another novel study for a different book at the same time as this one and all I keep thinking is: why couldn't it have been more like yours? Very thorough and so easy to use. It practically teaches the novel for me!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the best units I've purchased on Teacher's Pay Teachers!!! Thanks!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is by far the best resource available for this book! Between the little-to-no prep work & fun activities for the students, it is well worth the price.

This poem is recited by Ponyboy in chapter 5, and this digital poetry analysis activity will help your students understand its meaning and apply it to the content and theme of the novel.

Chapters 7-8

➡️ The Outsiders Interview Activity: Ponyboy tells the reader about being interviewed by reporters while in the hospital visiting Johnny and Dally. Not much detail is provided on who is interviewed and what questions are asked, In this activity, students write a digital transcript of the interview Ponyboy gives to the reporters based on the newspaper article from the novel.

 Chapters 9-10

➡️ The Outsiders Socs vs. Greasers Rumble Activity: This fun and interactive class activity will allow students to explore the similarities and differences between these two gangs in the novel.  Chapters 11 - 12

➡️ The Outsiders Plot Diagram Assignment: This assignment includes a ready-to-use digital template for students to type what happens in the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution of the novel. ➡️ The Outsiders Assignment- Tattoo a Greaser: For this assignment, students will choose a Greaser and insert images of two tattoos that they might get. Students will have to explain their reasons with support from the text. This creative assignment requires students to show an understanding of symbolism as the tattoos must relate in some way to the Greaser's personality or a theme that emerges in the novel.

➡️ Golden Quotations: Playing on the "Stay Gold" quote from the novel, students will choose two quotations that they think are "golden." This means they are important to either the theme, conflict or characterization of the novel. They must justify their choice with text evidence.
