OUTSIDERS CHARACTER ASSIGNMENT: TATTOO
During your Outsiders unit, skip the traditional character analysis, and try this fun alternative assignment instead! Have students give a greaser two tattoos and explain their reasons with support from the text! Students will be required to show an understanding of symbolism as the tattoos must relate in some way to the greaser's personality or a theme that develops in the reading.
Students love this assignment as it allows them to be creative! It also looks great on display in the classroom or on a bulletin board in the hall. You will have lots of people stopping to read the students' work!
