LITERARY TERMS LIST: POETRY & FICTION

This resource is a must have for all high school Language Arts teachers. It is a complete list of all the literary terms you would use in your classes. I usually print this out for my students at the beginning of the course, and have them put it into their binders for reference. When they forget a term - I tell them to go to their Literary Terms List.

The list is divided into terms you would use primarily for poetry, and those used for fiction. They are organized alphabetically and examples are used for each term. The examples come from a variety of sources, movies, children's stories, famous poems or pieces of literature. (PDF format)
