HOLES FAMILY TREE ASSIGNMENT
Digital Download
In Louis Sachar's novel, Holes, Stanley reveals a great deal about his family ancestry. Have your students make a personal connection with the novel by learning about their own family history!
This assignment has students "dig" into their family, by asking their relatives to tell them stories about themselves, their parents, or their parents' parents! Have students write facts or short stories about family members on this tree, then have them share with the rest of the class. The assignment also explains that not every family looks the same, so students are permitted to change headings to different family member titles (uncles, aunts, guardians etc).
