DIGITAL BOOK REPORT PROJECT FOR ANY STORY - EDITORIAL
Use this final digital Google novel or short story project as an alternative to the traditional book report. In this assignment, students will write an editorial for the Literary Times that evaluates a character's actions in any novel or short story. Students will take a firm stance on whether they believe the character was right or wrong in their actions. They will also write a letter to the editor from another character who did not agree with the editorial.
This digital reading project allows students to demonstrate a deep understanding of character by evaluating a character’s actions and words to form a judgement (criticism or examination). They will also formulate a defendable thesis statement and support it with text evidence. They will also introduce claims, acknowledge opposing claims, and organize the reasons and evidence logically.
This is a Google resource and students complete all the work on the computer. This works well with distance learning, 1:1 classrooms, remote teaching, Google Classroom, or online education.
