Students will get to crumple their writing into a snowball and throw it to the front of the room, making for an unforgettable writing lesson!

This is included in our popular writing bundle:
>>> Snowball Writing Bundle

How This Snowball Descriptive Writing Activity Works:

  1. Each student gets one of the 35 pre-made worksheets with different food descriptive writing visual writing prompts. They begin by describing the food with one of the 5 senses (sight), using imagery in their writing.
  2. After an allotted amount of time, Writer #1 crumples their writing up into a "snowball" and throws it to the front of the room.
  3. Everyone goes to the front to grab a snowball and they continue the descriptive writing with two more senses (smell and touch)
  4. This process is repeated one more time with the final two senses (taste and sound), and then it is returned to the original writer for editing, revision, and final copy!

Students always have so much fun doing this, and they usually can't believe you are letting them crumple up their stories.
