How These Brainstorming Bell Ringers Work:
- Once a week, start your class by putting students into groups of 3-4 students. Have each group complete the brainstorm of the week by thinking of words or ideas that relate to an interesting topic for 3 minutes.
- Make this a friendly competition between groups! Have students volunteer to share their answers after the three minutes, If another group has the same answer, all the groups have to cross it out. Give one point for answers that no other team has! This will encourage your students to think outside the box and come up with more creative answers.
- You will be so surprised by how creative your students get after doing this activity for a few weeks. They will push themselves to start to think of answers that no one else will think of, so they can't get more points for their team.
