This resource includes 5 non-fiction texts (one page each) that introduce students to Halloween traditions, practices, and customs from different countries! The countries covered are Ireland, Mexico, Romania, Nigeria, and China. This is an excellent cross-curricular activity as it connects well with Social Studies and can be used in class or as a homework assignment!

Each of the texts has a reading response that asks students comprehension questions regarding the piece (4 questions per reading). Also included is a detailed answer key for each of the assignments.

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS RESOURCE

♥ This is awesome! It really gets kids interested in cultures around the world.

♥ LOVE this! The kids have been so interested in seeing how Halloween is celebrated in other parts of the world!

♥ This was a great activity! I had the students choose one country in teams and present it to the rest of the class. It was very fun! Thank you!

♥ Using as morning work, then using for a compare and contrast piece in writing at the end of the week. Aligns with 6th grade common core ELA standards.
