What Teachers Are Saying About These Upper Elementary Bell Ringers:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing resource! This is one of the best things I have purchased! I love the consistent weekly format and all of the activities. Students love our bell ringer time so much. The video journals are amazing!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ama-za-zing! Exactly what I needed. My students are engaged and have a routine to follow when entering class. Students are writing, talking about their writing, and working collaboratively. Thank you for this resource!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cannot say enough about how much I LOVE this resource! Great, engaging morning work for the entire year. My students LOVED the Video Journals.

Included in These Upper Elementary Bell Ringers:

➡️ Monday Grammar of the Week: Start the week of English bell ringers introducing a paragraph on a high-interest topic and having students edit grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. The paragraphs include a mix of fiction and nonfiction. Students will strengthen their writing skills while also learning new and interesting information from the passages.

➡️ Tuesday Brainstorm of the Week: On the next day, build students’ idea development, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills with a fun, low-pressure competition. Students brainstorm words connected to an engaging topic for three minutes. You can turn this into a group challenge by having students share responses—if another group has the same answer, both cross it out. Award one point for answers that no other team has!

➡️ Wednesday Quote of the Week: Midweek, introduce one of the 40 inspirational quotes and display the matching ready-made poster in your classroom. Discuss the quote as a class, then have students respond using the included response prompts to encourage reflection and thoughtful discussion.

➡️ Thursday Video Journal of the Week: Engage students with dynamic slides that feature 40 video clips paired with related writing prompts. The videos are inspirational, thought-provoking, and creative, providing a structured way to incorporate video journaling once a week for the entire school year.

➡️ Friday Silent Reading (SSR): Students end the week with sustained silent reading. Each weekly slideshow includes a prompt for students to take out their books and begin reading, along with a unique weekly connection question for students to think about as they read.

➡️ Organized Weekly Student Handouts and Slides: Each of the weeks for these 40 English bell ringers include a folder with a PowerPoint presentation organized by day and an accompanying weekly student handout. Simply distribute the handout on Monday, and students will use it to complete the bell ringers throughout the week.

➡️ General Response Pages (not Mon-Fri Option): Don’t follow a Monday–Friday schedule? No problem! General response pages are included for each activity so you can create a flexible bell-ringer binder and use slides that do not include weekday headings.
