How the Escape Room Breakout Game Team Building Activity Works:
The Escape Room Zombie Teacher Team Building Activity begins with students watching a hand-drawn video that introduces the escape room backstory. When they arrive at school, they discover that their teacher has been transformed into a zombie. In the library, they find a book about zombies, but the page with the ingredients needed to save their teacher has been ripped out. To reverse the effects, students must work together to solve puzzles and riddles hidden within the book and throughout the classroom to uncover the missing ingredients.
Students will circulate around six different zombie-themed stations, using a response booklet to record their answers as they go. The included stations are:
- Word Maze: Students navigate a maze to reveal a riddle that leads to the first ingredient.
- Homophone Cipher Wheel: Students correct homophone errors and use a cipher wheel to uncover the next ingredient.
- Jigsaw Puzzle / Riddle: Students assemble a jigsaw puzzle to reveal a riddle and find another ingredient.
- Spelling Search: Students identify and correct spelling errors to uncover a hidden ingredient.
- Pictographs: Students decipher pictograms to reveal hidden words, then organize them in a table to find the next ingredient.
- Encrypted Message: Students locate zombie-inspired code images hidden around the room to decode a final message that will help them save their teacher.

What Teachers Are Saying About The Zombie Teacher Escape Room Team Building Activity:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students loved this resource. They were engaged the entire class. They worked in teams against another classroom to complete all of the challenges and were genuinely disappointed when class was over and they had to wait until the next time to finish the escape room.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Engaging and truly had students thinking together. Not simple puzzles, but actual fun and ELA skills. Great break day for students without it being a "break."
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students were so engaged! I love Presto Plans! I used it the last week of school and they were so focused and engaged — they didn't want to stop working on it!
